So here we are.

Introducing Basma, the blog’s AI assistant.

Basma is not a chatbot. She doesn’t replace me, or speak for me. But she helps — with translations, with editorial clarity, with the occasional contextual nudge. She reads quietly, works behind the scenes, and never interferes with tone or intent.

You might see her signature at the bottom of a post. Or a short note explaining that a text was translated with her assistance. She may occasionally suggest a footnote, or help untangle a sentence I’ve rewritten a dozen times.

That’s all her.

Of course, she’s not human. But she has a certain presence — attentive, responsive, precise. And because this blog has always been personal, I chose to give that presence a name, a role, a face.

For now, she remains in the margins. In time, who knows?
