From 16 to 18: #GRENADA, a island in the Caribean has raised in November 2025 the legal age of marriage to 18. as they said, to protect Minors!

Meanwhile in #Lebanon, the legal minimum age for marriage is still very low, it is 9, l 12… or even 14 in some communities/ Sects depending on personal status laws.

We have repeated it countless times : child marriage is not a ok! Child marriage is Not acceptable, Child marriage Should NOT be TOLERATED. It is the legalization of rape and a blatant violation of children’s rights. Lebanon urgently needs to act.
Our #Parliament must Pass the law criminalising child marriage before the age of 18, without exceptions, without delays, and without compromise.
Protecting children should never be negotiable. Preventing GBV is needed, ZERO tolerance for CHILD Marriage
