Lebanon is getting ready for a festive challenge unlike anything before.
From December 16 to 23, the Sacred Hearts School in Kfardebian will attempt a 170-hour nonstop Christmas recital, aiming to set a new Guinness World Record for the longest Christmas carol concert in history, under the patronage of His Beatitude Patriarch Bechara Boutros Raï.
The recital will run day and night with no breaks, featuring soloists, choirs, artists, and anyone who wants to sing Christmas hymns. There will be no speeches or readings, only continuous carols.
The public is invited to attend at any hour, and organisers need at least 12 people in the audience at all times for Guinness to validate the record.
Guinness World Records will monitor the event in real time under strict rules. Each piece must last at least 2 minutes, transitions cannot exceed 20 seconds, and performers will follow a tightly planned schedule to keep the music going for the full 170 hours.
Beyond the challenge, the team hopes the recital becomes a message of resilience. In a difficult period for Lebanon, a week of uninterrupted music stands as a reminder of the country’s spirit and its ability to come together.
Among the confirmed performers are the beloved Sancta Maria Choir, Viva Maria Choir, Fayha National Choir of Lebanon and many more.
If you wish to perform in the recital, the deadline to apply is November 26th. Contact 81186768 for details.
